Summer at LUX creates opportunities for emerging performers to grow in a positive, safe, and supportive environment.
2023 Summer at LUX Programs:
3 Weeks- MainStage Musical $1350
1 Week- Songwriting Intensive $450
4 Weeks for both Programs $1700 ($100 discount if students register all 4 weeks)
MainStage Musical:
LUX Performing Arts presents MEAN GIRLS as their Summer at LUX MainStage Musical 2023! MEAN GIRLS is a fearless musical about chasing popularity and being true to yourself. Music by Jeff Richmond, lyrics by Nell Benjamin, and a book by Tina Fey. LUX will have two casts, ages 8-12, and ages 13+ and casting is up to the creative team’s discretion.
Getting to know you video:
IF YOU ARE NEW TO LUX, a LUX team member will reach out to you with instructions on submitting a video of you singing a short song, about one minute long after you register. You can sing a cappella or with a karaoke track from Youtube. Upload the song to Youtube as unlisted and share the link with us. We’re asking for video submissions because we want to get to know you before the summer! But don’t worry, on the first day of Summer at LUX, you will have the opportunity to audition for all the roles in Mean Girls.
3 Week Commitment:
June 26, 2023 - July 14, 2023 | 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Performance Dates:
July 14 - 16 - Please ensure that performers are free the entire weekend for rehearsals and performances
Tuition: $1350 for 3 weeks
Show Ticket Sales will be available the week of July 10th.
What to bring:
Students bring their own snack/lunch, water, folder/binder, pens/pencils/highlighters, and dance shoes or sneakers.
Songwriting Intensive:
LUX Performing Arts is offering a 5 day Songwriting Intensive open to all levels of experience, ages 8-18. Connect and collaborate with other young musicians for an experience that will transform your musicianship and take your skills to the next level. Learn from the top industry professionals!
Classes include: History of Pop Music, Music Theory, Stage Performance, Vocal technique, GarageBand, and of course, Songwriting!
The Songwriting Intensive culminates in a Night of Original Songs on Friday, July 21st at 6pm.

Performance Date: Friday, July 21st at 6pm
Tuition: $450 for the week
What to bring: Students bring their own snack, lunch, water, and blank sheet music notebook, blank notebook, pens/pencils, and instrument of choice.
