Summer at LUX: The Little Mermaid & 13 the Musical

Summer at LUX: Mainstage Musicals is a 3-week intensive, creating opportunities for incredible growth in young performers ages 7-16. In a positive and supportive environment, students are taught by Broadway & TV professionals specializing in Acting, Dance, Musical Theater, Improv, and Songwriting.

In the mornings, students will take a variety of performing arts classes, a blend of the specialties mentioned above! After lunch, students will rehearse for the Mainstage Musical to be performed on the final week and weekend of the program. All students will be cast in The Little Mermaid Jr. or 13 the Musical.

All students will get to perform in the Cabaret Night hosted by the Counselors (Are you a College student or recent graduate and interested in being a Counselor at LUX this summer? Click HERE).

Dates:

Week 1: June 27th - July 1

Week 2: July 5th - July 8th (4 day week) (CABARET NIGHT July 8)

Week 3: July 11th - July 15th Performances: Thursday, July 14th - Sunday, July 17th

Daily Schedule:

9am-12pm Classes (Acting, Dance, Musical Theater, Improv, and Songwriting)

12pm-12:30pm Lunchtime (students bring their own lunch)

12:30-3:30 Rehearsals for The Little Mermaid & 13: The Musical

Tuition:

$415/week

Families may apply for need based scholarship in the application.

Auditions:

After you submit your application, a LUX team member will reach out to you with instructions on submitting a video of you singing a short song, about one minute long. You can sing a cappella or with a karaoke track from Youtube. Upload the song to Youtube as unlisted and share the link with us.

We’re asking for video submissions because we want to get to know you before the summer! But don’t worry, on the first day of Summer at LUX, you will have the opportunity to audition for all the roles in The Little Mermaid and 13 the Musical!
